About me

My diverse background combines my devotion to the science of functional nutrition, my love of delicious nutritious food, and my passion for helping others achieve their health goals.  It is my experience as a nutritionist and someone living with an autoimmune disease that even the smallest changes to one’s diet and lifestyle can greatly impact their health.

My credentials you ask?

I'm a devout nutritionist with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and a Master of Science (MS) in Human Nutrition in conjunction with background education in Psychology.  I graduated with high honors as I spent years studying the science of nutrition and how it can be implemented to improve health and provide healing benefits.

I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist®, credentialed by the American Nutrition Association® through its Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists™.

It’s no BS, I have MS so I went and I got my MS!

The motivation to attain my professional credentials and launch my private practice originated from my personal experience with Multiple Sclerosis and my quest to natural healing.

My MS symptoms were misdiagnosed for nearly a decade by conventional medicine.  Despite having several medical consultations and diagnostic tests, including brain MRI and EMG, doctors could not medically explain the source of my symptoms.  Much to my disappointment, I was referred to mental health counseling and was briefly on antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs.  I've had periods of depression, anxiety, and a multitude of neurological symptoms - numbness and tingling from the neck down, tightness around my torso (aka "MS hug"), electric-shock sensation when walking, foot drop (don't try driving a stick shift with this!), hand tremor and weak hand grip strength, impaired fine movement (i.e., writing, handling zippers and buttons), muscle weakness and spasticity, uncoordinated and unsteady gait, vision issues involving vision loss in one eye, double vision, and compromised depth perception, dizziness, impaired hearing, bowel incontinence and difficulty emptying bladder, swallowing difficulty and slurred speech, compromised cognition involving word search, executive function, memory, and brain fog, and of course the always fun debilitating fatigue.

I sought help again when my symptoms reached peak intensity and was immediately admitted to the hospital .  Following a rigorous MRI assessment, I was formally diagnosed with MS and given IV steroids.  Frankly, I was extremely relieved to have received a diagnosis, I wasn’t imagining my symptoms and I was now empowered to design a roadmap to recovery.

Following my hospitalization, I embarked on a grueling outpatient physical therapy treatment, several consultations with various neurologists specializing in MS, and countless lab tests.  After some failed conventional treatment attempts, I became evermore motivated to minimize reliance on conventional treatment.  I looked for support from nutritionists and naturopathic doctors in an attempt to discontinue traditional medication and eventually achieve remission through natural means.  I concurrently leaned on my Biology background and initiated my own research.

I saw astounding lasting results from the improved nutrition and lifestyle tools I gradually implemented in my daily life.  I had an epiphany, nutrition has the ability to heal!  I wanted to spread the word and help others who share a similar experience, so I matriculated in the highly accredited Human Nutrition graduate program at University of Bridgeport.  With much dedication and passion I acquired my master of science degree and opened my private practice, EverResilient Nutrition LLC.  Additionally and most importantly, transitioning to a natural approach to MS, has allowed me to become a mother to a beautiful and healthy baby boy!

RESILIENCE is my secret sauce!

It's been a long and challenging journey, one that has led me to become extremely resilient.  This is my wish for every client, regardless of the nature of their health concern.  Sometimes life just happens, learning to become resilient and bounce back from adversity is a powerful coping and survival tool.  We all have an innate ability to strengthen or resurface our inner resilience which can ultimately accelerate and facilitate healing.  I help clients discover and tap into their inner resilience as they exercise control over their own functioning and over events that impact their lives.

How do I do what I do?

I’m an integrative nutritionist which means I help individuals not only with their relationship with food but also physical activity, sleep, and stress management, all of which are a part of wellness.

I also practice functional medicine where I address chronic systemic issues in a big picture approach rather than individual compartmentalized body systems. In my consultations I welcome clients to share their stories as I aim to understand the complexities of who they are as unique individuals.

Why work with me?

  • Therapeutic diet plans for chronic health conditions such as autoimmune diseases, type 2 diabetes, PCOS, heart disease, and more.

Helping others achieve their dietary goals and adopt a healthier lifestyle to better manage their disease is among my greatest aspirations.  I aim to help clients be better advocates for their health while providing relevant evidence-based nutritional interventions to address their health concerns.

I look forward to a future where nutrition is the main healing force in all disease states; I’m eager and proud to be a part of this movement as a nutritionist!
